What is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy is a counseling method that allows adults and children to express difficult thoughts, feelings and emotions through creativity in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
How does Art Therapy work?
Art Therapy gets any problem you have out of your head and onto paper so you can see what is going on and talk about it.
- Provide relief from emotional pain
- Stimulate imagination & creativity
- Develop healthy communication & coping skills
- Identify mental, emotional, physical & spiritual blocks
“ When we focus on a creative process such as drawing it allows us to gain clarity about what is happening in our lives and where we need to make changes”
Do I need to be good at drawing to benefit?
No, you don’t have to be good at art. How you feel and what you learn about yourself in the process is important. Stick figures and scribble work fine!
